Hygienic lifetime insulating protection from impact and slip-sliding!

Sooner or later almost every owner of horses faces the decision to have to choose insulating protection from impact and slip-sliding. The charcoal-grey mats by CabkaďPlast  provide all these features and thus eliminate the disadvantages of many other floor coverings.

  -           Features

Viscoplastic Cabkan® mats are slightly harder than rubber even at first glance, but they have substantially more silencing and shock absorbing qualities. They are easier on the joints of the horses and do not strain them by too much adhesion.

Cabkan® mats resistant to wear and virtually indestructible. By their even gravel-like structure they are equally well suited for shoed as well as unshoed horses.

Cabkan® mats provide a hygienic foundation for your horse – no matter whether they are conglutinated all-over or only at the overlapping areas, they always provides a tight cover, leak-proof against urine. Thus neither a focus for bacteria nor smells originate even under the mats.

The material is fire-proof and resistant to breaking withstanding mechanical and chemical strains. The mat with its gravel-like structure provides excellent comfort for your horse regarding insulation, it gives warmth to the joints and dryness as well as protection from slip-sliding while you can often save half of the straw and other strews.  The wellness feeling remains, of course.

Cabkan® is a recycled plastic material which is subject to strict checks before it is processed. The checks are performed by independent laboratories. Also The mats themselves are subject to regular quality checks.

-           Field of Use

The Cabkan® mats are suited for various purposes: the perfect nonchalant equipment for horse box-office washing sites, walls of boxers, horse clinics, lanes through stables, dining sites and transport vehicles. They can also be driven on without any problems and are weatherproof.

-           Laying

CabkaďPlast  floor coverings for stables can be laid easily by anybody in any stable on any floors like wash floor, asphalt loam etc. The mats can be processed like wood. A true gain regarding time and quality is the practical form-fit overlapping system by which the floor mats are only conglutinated at the overlapping edges, if need be. An all-over conglutination is, of course, possible, too: it is recommended in case of increased strain.

 -          Care

The robust Cabkan®  mats do not need special care. Only mucking out, sweeping with a broom with strong bristles and, if need be, steaming down once or twice a year – that’s it.

Laying Instructions:                        Overlapping System – Conglutination

Materials Needed:

The products in  brackets are recommendations of products, you may use other equal materials for this purpose.

Preparation:

The ideal temperature for laying CabkaďPlast floor mats for stables is at 18° C and above. For this reason we recommend to store the floor mats, before laying them, one to two days in a room at room temperature (18-20°C) on a level ground during the colder season. Thus the material gets enough elasticity to adapt to the unevenness of the ground.

The surface of the floor of the stable (concrete, wash floor, asphalt etc) and the climatic conditions of the room must meet the requirements of DIN 18365, i.e. the ground (e.g. smooth concrete finish) shall be even, dry and free of dust and should not contain residues of oil or chemicals.

Lay the floor mats out before conglutination so that you can perform possible adapting works. The mats can be brought to the requested measure without much technical expenditure with any D.I.Y. saw. Tip: number the mats when taking them out so that they can be put back again in the right order.

Spread the primer on the overlapping edges of the CabkaďPlast floor mats for stables. Lay the mats evenly and leave them to dry for 15 minutes.

 Laying:

1.        Begin with the left corner at the far end by laying a whole mat in a way that the overlappings showing upwards are in front and on the right side.

2.        Apply a sufficient amount of adhesive on the right overlapping using the spray gun ( now put the second mats down at the right side. Push the mat against the first one until some adhesive comes out of the joint).

3.        Proceed until you have laid the first row. By all means mind a straight front edge in the first row, so that you can lay the following rows properly. If the Wall is not straight, this should be corrected before by cutting the mats accordingly or it should be solved by  pointing with the adhesive later. The following rows are now laid with breaking points.

4.         Proceed with the second row like you did with the first one, but now the adhesive is also put on the front overlappings of the first row.

5.         Proceed until the floor is laid completely. Tip: If the floor is not entirely even the mats can "stand up" at the points of conglutination. If this happens, they can be fixed with stainless screws which are screwed in at an angle and slowly. Once the adhesive has dried, the screws can be removed or sunk in into the floor so that there are no dangers of injuring the horse.

6.         After conglutinating the floor covering, check the lining if the adhesive has closed the joints. Fill up open joints with the adhesive later. The same happens with the joints adjacent to the walls. Surplus adhesive can be distributed, but it wears away after approximately one week anyway.

7.         Check in several intervals if all joints are still close and finish them if need be.

The floor can be used after approximately 24 hours at 20°C

Laying Instructions:            All-over Conglutination

Materials Needed:

Lay the floor mats out before spreading the two-part adhesive on them so that you can perform possible adapting works. The mats can be brought to the requested measure without much technical expenditure with any D.I.Y. saw. Tip: number the mats when taking them out so that they can be put back again in the right order.

Now prepare the adhesive according to the manufacturer’s instruction, stir the adequate proportion of hardener into the resin until you get a homogeneous mixture. It is recommended to use a hand-held drill with a stirring disc. Tip: don't stir too long, otherwise the adhesive binds too fast! Normally the processing time of the adhesive is approximately 25 minutes. No airing time is necessary.

 Laying:

1.       Spread the adhesive roughly on the entire floor so that gaps remain to walk on. Tip: pour the adhesive from the bucket onto the floor in a "serpentine zigzag way", not too much, otherwise the mats will "swim" on the adhesive.

2.       Then properly distribute the adhesive mixture for the first mat to be laid, using one of the dental spatula. Immediately insert the mat in the fresh bed of adhesive and press on the edges concerned, so that the adhesive can get into the joints and a  100% percent downward sealing is guaranteed.

3.       Proceed with the other mats until you have finished. The adhesive must get well into the joints and should protrude a little bit. Press the mats onto the floor again after approximately one hour; uneven or difficult spots can be loaded by weights.

4.       After conglutinating the floor covering, check the lining if the adhesive has closed the joints. Fill up open joints with the adhesive later. The same happens with the joints  adjacent to the walls. Surplus adhesive can be distributed, but it wears away after approximately one week anyway.

The floor can be used after approximately 24 hours at 20°C.
